About Us

The New England Tiki Society is a growing community committed to the preservation and promotion of American Escapism! We explore the history of tiki through tropical cocktails, exotica music and Oceania-inspired décor. Our ohana comes from the northeastern region of the United States made up of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

We were founded in late 2021 by Gabriel Bascom from The Search for Tiki and Chef Jason Doo of Wusong Road. Gabe and Jason were disappointed by the lack of tiki events in the New England area, so they set out to do something about it! Together they formed the New England Tiki Society with the goal of bringing local tiki enthusiasts together.

Several months later, our first event convened on May 16, 2022. We anticipated about thirty people would show up, but the final attendance was double that number! Clearly there was a desire for more tiki events in New England. Our second meet-up in July sold out and it became our first full restaurant takeover over of Wusong Road in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Going forward, we plan to host events on a monthly basis and we are looking forward to growing the New England tiki community. We hope to meet you soon!
